Had this situation and was wondering if the correct call was made:

Bases loaded, 2 out. Batter swings and missed at strike 3 but the catcher drops the ball. Batter starts to jog toward first while the catcher picks up the ball and steps on home. The umpire makes no call so the catcher runs to meet up with the batter and tags him but in the process, drops the ball. Batter reaches first safely.

The other runners advanced one base snd the run scored.

Did the umpire make the correct call?

As soon as the play happened the offensive coach yelled the ball was dropped, the defensive coach started yelling tag the runner. Meanwhile the catcher was the smartest of them all by touching home but the umpire blew the call.

To top it off, the defensive coach apparently didn't know the rule either because he knew that home was touched first but didn't object.
