In my opinion, as a die hard Cub fan, I think it would be best for young Zach to either wait til next year or, at the very least, wait til next series. That way I can join the rest of you in hoping his return is a success!
I was at our high school's homecoming football game tonight and overheard the people behind me talking about the Cubs game tomorrow and that Zach Duke was pitching and that he always pitched really well at Wrigley and they were really nervous about it. I turned around and told them that I "know" his father. They were very impressed, but they didn't know that I only "know" him cyberly....It was pretty cool....but I agree with Holden---I really think that he should delay his return....
And even though I want the Cubs to win the division, I'd like Zach to win tomorrow....and for the Brewers to lose, too, just to stay even.....

I have been trying to follow Zach's rehab and anxiously awaiting his return as a starter.
We're there with ya in spirit Zach!
Follow MN Mom's advice, Duke 'em!

Fortunately I was able to watch a few innings of the game today, the scheduled game on TV was in a rain delay and by chance they showed the Pitts/Cubs game.
It was enjoyable to see him back up on the mound, and how about that 2RBI single!

Our local ball player, Steve Pearce was brought up on Sept. 1 and is playing RF/1B with Mr. Duke. Very excited and happy for him and his family. Always encouraging to see these fine, hard-working young men be successful!
