A lot of great info has been posted on contacting colleges coaches and/or recruiting coordinators. Whether it be an introductory e-mail, follow up, or an e-mail making the coach aware that he will be attending a camp or showcase.

After the introductory e-mail to try to get on the radar, how much is too much in terms of subsequent e-mails to a school? Are e-mail updates acceptable to coaches that have shown some level of interest? Or is it proper to send updates to all schools a player is interested in? Is once a month or once a quarter better?

With all of the e-mails coaches receive, I wonder if too many follow up e-mails may get the eye roll from the coach - "this guy again." Or perhaps some coaches prefer the updates being that they can't have coaches traveling everywhere every weekend to see games?

Lots of questions, thanks for your patience....

Thanks for any feedback as I continue to work with my son through the process. This site and those that provide feedback are the best.

What year does your son graduate?  The contact should probably become more frequent as he progresses.  Once a quarter sounds about right for a sophomore or junior.  In my opinion, it's nice if your son tries to have something to say -- a new test score, an all-tournament team, a 60 time, a new video, etc.  But I'm sure different coaches feel differently about frequent emails, and displaying interest can never hurt.  IMO a coach would rarely say, "this kid is too eager!"
