Early Commitment Trend Continues | High School Baseball Web

I was scanning the just-released, updated and expanded rankings on PGCrosschecker and noticed the continuing growth of early commitments.

Five sophomores (2010) are noted as having already committed to schools including USC, Cal Irvine, N.C. State, Florida, and San Diego. My guess is that there are several more out there who simply have not yet been reported.

The number of juniors having already committed is substantial. Most are going to major conference schools. Mid-majors do not seem to be participating in the trend so much.

That would seem logical as players with mid major talent are probably on the radar of some majors and may wish to wait to see if the majors work out for them.
