Typical media malarkey. Noth should be on the list at C, Nicholas deserves respect at SS, Suchy is miles ahead of the other 2B, and Ourada will be there next year. And once Morse gets fully going watch out.

But the ultimate joke is no Kurash - one unlucky inning should not diminsh the magnitude of his season. Tommorrow the spotlight is all his and hopefully after he shuts down our overrated neighbors he will get the repsect that he deserves.
geez Devilman, no disrespect but I really don't think your whole team is all-state caliber.

As far as Nick, unfortunately 1 bad inning can take you off the all-state list. Remember, Gary Perinar didn't make it in '04 even though he was obviously one of the most dominant pitchers in the state. just had some bad innings.
The High School Coaches Association does an all-state team that usually has 8-10 pitchers, 3 cathers, 5-6 infielders and 3-5 outfielders. That's probably a fair way to do it. I'm sure there are some downstate guys that derserve to be on it, Wickoff from Limestone for one and the kid from Normal going to GA. Tony, Perinar did get the Illinois Gatorade POY though.

I'd give Hall the COY just for sentimental reason being his last year and doing what they've done with very few returning starters.
The 3B at Shepard (Recchia?) is rumored to be putting up big offensive numbers, and he is a fine pitcher, too.

The SS @ Reavis was allegedly odd man out for last year's team when he lost the battle with Morreale (Vernon Hills) for the last spot - so he should be in a good position to be selected if his numbers are similar.

Lambert @ Pontiac has been selected the last 2 years, so he has a good chance to three-peat.

The Roark that is still at Wilmington will probably make it, too.

The problem that will be exposed soon is: The tribune and Sun-Times load up on "local" kids, and the other major paper is comprised heavily of St. Louis area kids. The Coaches Assoc. membership is dominated by Chicagoland coaches, so the majority of their picks will be "local", too.
Ballyall,

It may seem bad to you that players are talking up their own teammates, but when you think of it, their teammates are the only ones that they are really familiar with. Other plays that may be really good they only see play one or two games at the most, so it would be tough to make a comment based on such limited viewing. Otherwise they are only going by what people are posting on this board or other boards or if they are on their summer team.
Hey Pete!

Next you will be telling us that most of those guys are, or have trained at Strikes!!

Your list has flaws!!! Are we talking about 'all around' players, or players that just do one thing well? If it's all around????? Well its like I said, Strikes guys, because some of them can't field to well!

Pete, you always seem to come out of the woodwork at a time when you want attention. Why is that?????? Next you'll be showing up on the Top Hitting Instructor topic with 'pony mom' and il2008, and your other alter egos.

Yep, he sure showed his "overrated neighbors" who was boss. Maybe you got into his head a little too much..
Returning members of last year's IHSBCA selection:

CLASS "A"

PITCHERS
Lee Bloemer Teutopolis Jr

CATCHERS
Alex Urbas Williamsville Jr

INFIELDERS
none

OUTFIELDERS
Jacob Joebbert Hampshire Jr

CLASS "AA"

PITCHERS
Connor Sestak Springfield Sacred Heart - Griffin Jr

CATCHERS
none

INFIELDERS
Connor Powers Benet Academy Jr
Nick Morreale Vernon Hills Jr

OUTFIELDERS
none

Benet's coach will probably make a strong case for most of his players, so I don't think Powers will be alone. There should be a few SICA-North players in the mix, too (Richards, Reavis, Shepard, Oak Lawn). There should also be multiple selections from the Hinsdale/Oak Park/LaGrange area, at least at the all-area level.
Hey Rat
One thing we can all agree on is the fact that are many good ball players around the state. I also think it would not be a bad idea to have an All State Team for Junior’s and a separate one for seniors.
There are many junior’s that are playing their butts off this year and will not get mentioned. Is Junior year a bigger year for the ballplayer than their Senior year? I would agree…All you have to recognize is the number of early signees(>72) that took place before the season started.

I actually heard two college coach’s talking about how all the difference makers are already signed. They might not be 100% correct but I also heard that one Big10 school is finished with 06’s and now lining up the 07’s for a look see.

Just Because:
I can’t help but bring up your line about the SICA –North Teams, it gives the board a little edge.

“There should be a few SICA-North players in the mix, too (Richards, Reavis, Shepard, Oak Lawn). “

Since Oak Forest (16-4) has beaten all these teams, should there be some players from Oak Forest in the mix? Oak Forest had some games nobody would like to remember but I think the team has grown more from those loses than any of the wins (except one).
