It's physically impossible to bring your whole arm forward at once and still throw at a high speed.

Every high level pitcher leads with their elbow.

Good point X man. It CAN be taught but it's risky. It needs to evolve slowly and worked almost daily. Changing arm action CAN and does happen. One of the best ways is controlled or breakdown with weighted ball reps. If the elbow does not lead (and whip late) you are not throwing hard or effectively. Show me a guy who does not lead with elbow and I'll show you stiff arm with little chance of success unless corrected.
