Use to play in some of their events but will not go back. It used to be good for the younger ages but as the boys got older, the fields got more and more spread out. Play one game and go 30 miles to another field, play that one and drive 30 miles to the next. I know we vowed to not go back. Our younger team went this year and lost in the semi-final at 7:30pm, if they went to the final they would have played at 8:30 with a 4 hour drive home and school the next day....All this with no rain....
Hirrel 13,

First, good luck in your tournament. My son's team (12U) played in the ECTB's Northeast AAU Super Regional league this past spring. It was very, very expensive and the organizers provided very little for the money. (schedule - which often changed and a web page with standings) You provide the fields, umps, balls & everything else!

The team played in the ECTB Clash of Champions the weekend of July 16 & 17th. It was advertised as to be played in Reading PA but we ended up playing in Hamburg PA. The fields were OK, nothing special. It was a brutally hot a humid weekend. Our field was a long walk into the corn fields. No port-a-john in site... We have a couple of inner-city kids on the team and they asked where the bathroom was? I pointed to the corn. They looked at me like I was from mars and took the long hike back to the parking lot... Smile

The umpires were kind of inconsistent. 1 team no showed the tourney which threw off some things (They gave the teams they were supposed to play 14 - 0 wins which really threw off the pool play) The second day it rained and our games were rained out, but 1 game was played.... kinda weird since the fields were across the street from each other.

They said they would be in touch about make up games but that never happened.

I hope you have a better experience!
Our AAU team played in an ECTB Reading, PA tournament and we vowed never to go back. The fields are hit or miss. Played one game at a city field with no fencing except backstop. Ball hit to deep center (bordered by city street) and before CF could get there, some guy walking his dog down the street picked up the live ball and threw it in, no doubt thinking he was doing us a favor! Tournament forced us to stay in "sponsor" hotels but they couldn't handle the volume. Our team came back from hot 4pm game amd couldn't shower before dinner because hotel HAD ABSOLUTELY NO CLEAN TOWELS! ****** game times for out-of-town teams. Even when we won, we had to travel 40 minutes out of our way just to get trophies, making the drive home even longer and later. I heard from other teams things have improved somewhat, but I'd approach it with an abundance of caution.
Just returned back home from the ECTB tournaments in PA, i have to say we had some good games. we (my family) had a great time, not too expensive, 2 games we played on high school fields (was fine) hot but nice. hotel was good had clean towels, we lost in the final rounds ,ran out of pitchers last game 13-14 lost, ran out of time you only get 2 hours to play games.over all i would go back kid did well had fun.
My stepson is there with his team and they are in the 4 PM Semi Final--somehow you find a way to overcome whatever the obstacles you meet--it is the same field for both teams playing the game

He also won the coaches HR Derby and got to see a load of kids that have played for us or been to our showcases

There is good in anything if you look for it
TR-hit
I wish you would have replied to the earlier post. I would have loved to meet with him and his team. I was also at the home-run derby friday night with my son.(My son was in it.)It was between D.C Dinesty and his team. Also, to get to finals it would have to be three games in a row today to win. Please let me know how his team did.I hope they beat D.C because we lost to them.Have you heard of the team called The Gothems.Alot of kids out of GW highschool out of New York.(Great team)Had a blast. My kid loved it.(Competetion wise)
