they are starting this weekend on Long island, I would guess your area cant be afr behind

I keep trying to call the phone number listed for the Hudson Valley but no one picks up. I really would like to not miss out on this because of irresponsibility on someone's part and a lack of information on the website... if anyone has any info please let me know ASAP

They will post the dates, usually the last week in May and early June. There are usually 7-8 different tryouts and locations throught Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess...Not sure if Coach Greller from Lourdes is still running the show......

JH- Call the sports department at the Journal News (Gannett paper) in White Plains. The paper usually publishes the schedule in very small print - but whoever covers high school baseball should either know the schedule or know who to contact. Also - call Rob or Ryan at Frozen Ropes Training Center in White Plains. Tony Abbatine (the head of FR) used to run the Westchester section of the Empire State Games so they might know who to contact as well.

I was with Mr. Archiello from Frozen Sunday and ryan at the cages yesterday and I didnn't hear anything about it. I didn't ask them directly but I mentioned it around them and they didn't say anything. I look in the Journal News everyday (looking for my name ) and haven't noticed anything about the games. But I will call tonight. Thanks.

To make the team is like tryouts for any other....play well and you make it. As far as the HV team, play at a certain HS and you have agreat shot..... Just remember, making these teams is based on ability, has nothing to do with grades, projection etc... It's a nice event but some summer coache also do not like the schedule conflicts.

We have alsways left that week open in the schedule.

Are you saying the HV team is "somewhat predetermined" ?

Are these Empire State Games the equivilent to the Bay State Games here in Mass.? We were told by one of the directors for the "BS Games" (hehe) that there's is usually a huge conflict with Legion teams and other Summer teams and that most Legion coaches are all but forbidding the kids' participation.

Yes they are quite similar and the same battles ensue

are the ESG even worth it anymore? with a majority of the talent not able to play do to restrictions by summer coaches, my HS coach said dont even bother playing, Legion ball is better than ESG nowadays anyway
what are your thoughts

in order to tryout and play for the ESG team id have to miss 5 games atleast
