Have you ever heard this? Man that was a bomb. Yeah just wait when he is a couple of years older can you imagine how far he will hit it then? Or how about this one? I cant wait to see how hard he will throw when hes a Jr or Sr if he can throw it like that already. Maybe thats the last hr he will ever hit. Maybe thats the best baseball moment he will ever have. I dont know, who does? But sometimes I think we all need to stop and smell the roses so to speak and enjoy the moment. It passes by all too quickly anyway doesnt it.

Coach May,

It does fly by. And it can all end in a second.

I think for the true athlete - in any sport - they come to understand that and realize that the only thing that really matters is the next at bat - or next tackle - or next punch.

I also think it is a great way for parents of an athlete to look at it too - albeit harder to accept.

Great post. IMO.

With two sons that play, i've had many great moments and feelings. Every year I somehow try to freeze it, so time will stop and we can stay there, but to my dismay time keeps rolling on.
