Really too bad to hear about Eric Gagne and his upcoming surgery. This injury sounds like something unusual. My son had TJ surgery last June and we went to Birmingham to have Dr. James Andrews work his magic. He explained to us about moving the ulnar collateral ligament to prevent any post-operative problems. He told my son that he will never experience a "funny bone" in his elbow again. I've read that there are a few different methods of doing this and fortunately for us, to this point, all is well. My son is a HS junior and is 9+ months post-op, playing 3rd base and hitting. If all continues going OK, he should get back on the bump this summer. I hope for a full and quick recovery for the best closer in baseball. JMO.
