First they were involved in the Oklahoma Coach disaster now they see fit to "rag" on Bernie Williams (NY YANKS)--during their Sunday Night game they saw fit to highlight the Bernie miscues of the two nights previous

I felt it a bit distasteful in view of the many many great years Bernie has given the Yankee's and their fans.

I think they went a bit overboard

Yeah I realize that is their job but I still felt ir a bit distasteful to being doing that on a national game

And by the way, I am not a Yankee fan--I just appreciate real good ballplayers and Bernie has been one of them

I completely agree with TR's statement but if you wear the pinstripes and get the big checks you also wear the bullseye. In this situation Bernie may be getting undeserved criticism. However, I think for years, in more cases than not, Yankee players in general have recieved more "atta boys" than they have deserved.

Face it, dollar for dollar the Yankees are not doing that well and King George has given the press an opening to rip the untouchables. The media dogs smell fresh meat and George has fed them for years. I find it funny that this coincides with his recent press conference where he says his son-in-law will be taking over the team, but no date has been set. Save the King and sacrifice the army, it is the way the kingdom is run.

I doubt Bernie will need to endure the slings and arrows much longer. He appears to be wrapping up a fine career.

George will turning over the helm to his son-in-law, with other general management input from other sons, daughters and various in-laws. They'll soon remember the Bobby Mercer years fondly.

Ah, nepotism. A formula for failure. It was a nice ride for the Bombers as they now return to the Joe Pepitone era.
