Odd game to have mid-week. Is this a makeup game for an earlier game that was snowed out or just to dang cold?

I'm thinking that since the regular 3 game series against IU was in Bloomington, they wanted to have a rivalry game in West Lafayette.  Thinking that if they play IU at West Lafayette next year, they would have 1 mid-week game in Bloomington.

By the way, this game does not count in the B1G standings.

That's interesting Ryno.  Good luck to your son!  Will try to catch the game once we're home from HSBB.

UNC and NC State did it this year. They played a game in Durham last week and will play a 3 game set this weekend. I kind of like it. UNC and ECU played three games in three days against each other at a different site. Once in Greenville, One in Chapel Hill and one at the Durham Athletic Park. Pretty cool. Good luck to your son. I love watching CBB after I get home from practice. I watched the Miss State Ole Miss game last night. We need more of that on the tube.

Quite a few teams are playing in different sites in different venues lately.

But I am not sure I get the purpose of conference rivals facing off more than a 3 game series, despite the location.

Coach May, do you pay for ESPN on your tv? If so, you have access to lots of games via the WatchESPN app. Tonight’s lineup is below. You can use Amazon Fire Stick, Google ChromeCast, Apple TV, or many other inexpensive devices to "cast" games from your phone to your tv. Most are pretty user-friendly.

I think it is a great idea for rival fans to get to see there hated nemesis every year, and trust me, Purdue and Indiana don't like each other.

Thanks everybody!  It was really neat.  We went to our favorite Wings/Watering Hole, and they put it on the Big Screen for us.  It was a night I'll never forget.

Saw the picture on the Purdue Twitter.  Very cool that they did that.   I'll follow you on Twitter if you don't mind.....fun to keep up on how other's kids from this site are doing

I'm guessing they played the extra game for a couple reasons 1) good competition 2) good crowd 3) short travel for a weekday.  Son's team drove 2 1/2 hours to a Tuesday game last week only to get 20 miles from the field and find out the game was cancelled.  Keep in mind they left campus at 10:30am....so they were on the road from 10:30 - 5 on a Tuesday and never even saw a field.  It's bad enough at 2 1/2 hours, but weekday games further away  than that are just absolutely awful for the players
