Hey these are a few swings after I worked on some of the things you guys said and some of my own as well. The first ones off a tee are with wood, as well as the first live swing. The last live swing is with aluminum. I realize that the tee work is all in the same pitch location, but I was trying to groove a specific swing. I also only hit about 10 balls off the tee.

I would be happy to hear any feedback. This is the before video before swing

This is the most recent video baseball swing 2

I would put the entire batting practice on here but the video is just too large.

Sorry beemax, but I am having some real trouble sending any videos to you because of my internet connection/server. I hope a youtube video will do even though the quality is ****.
Midnight blocking at Devine. 5 AM practice the next day. Play like there's no tomorrow.

I am not a coach but I am noticing 1 flaw that I feel would be a huge advantage for you to work on.

Take notice of your head movement. In the second video you have a steel poll(or appears to be) that aligns with your head from behind, notice how much movement you have, that means your EYES are moving which means it is harder to see the ball.

This is starting at the hips.

I think your swing is very close! From the point of your load you look pretty darn good. If you will drop your hands to just below shoulder level as you start to load it will help right away. As tfox says, there are other ways to load. If you load by pulling your right elbow behind you as you stride while opening your hips (which you do now, as far as the stride goes) you will be able to create the same amount of power you do now, maybe even more. As you load, you should feel a stretch in your left tricep muscle and this arm should end up almost straight at full load. Look at the videos on the "which swing would you rate higher" thread provided by Quincy. Watch the front arm of both guys. Neither guy was very big, but both had lots of HRs. Williams was 6'2" but he was pretty slight of build. Watch the opening of the hips as the hands go back. That is how you create power.
So you are saying when loading, twist a hair so the left shoulder is closed and in doing so create rotational power as well as linear? I think I understand. I have tried a variety of these thing, and depending on the day some work and some don't.
Often time certain parts of my body are working better than others, so I have to tweak a little here and there. Most of the time I just try to think lose hands and drive down through the ball.

You look like a strong kid. Why would you want to swing down? The swing plane should be slightly up, especially if you have power. Watch the great hitters, they ALL swing up as the hands come forward. Some of them start with their hands high, but when the hands start forward, the swing plane is up. Try to finish with your hands above your shoulder when hitting off of a tee for a while and see how it feels. If you start with your hands held around chest high it will make it easier.
I see what you are saying. The reason I try to think down through the ball is because sometimes I pull off. That is my main bad habit. In order to correct that habit I try to swing down through the ball, not unlike a two ball drill, in order to not pull off and roll over. I have tried my hands up and down and any way you can think of. When I have my hands down I do get more of a launch pattern, but I also tend to drop my back elbow and get my hands behind me during the swing, causing me to have to pull off in order to make solid contact with an inside pitch. This is just what feels smooth to me.

Now that I am coming out of this bad habit, I am trying to do different things with my hands and experimenting a little bit. My favorite swing is Manny Ramirez. I think what you are saying is get my hands somewhat where his hands are. Eventually I would like to get in that power position, but I haven't been able to get there yet. To me this is the peak of all swings, and if you are saying that is where you would prefer my hands to be, I completely agree with you, I am just not there yet.

Yep, that's what I'm saying. By all means...go at your own pace. Feel comfortable with what you are doing before you put it into action in a game.
Buddy- you should make your swing feel comfortable. Yes, you can emulate Manny in your swing, but if it does not feel comfortable, you need to change. If one swing(Manny, Albert, Barry, Derek, etc.) was the right swing, everybody would be doing it. Watch what they do IN their swing- they all get to the same place. They are all starting differently, but they all get to the same position to hit. That's why they are so successful- consistency. I don't see too much of a problem with your head, I see more of a drift forward, which, if you stay balanced, as it looks like you are, you may be OK. Once you start lunging and reaching, or getting beat on meatballs, you have a problem. You may want to widen out your feet just a little bit to kind of help correct that.

Let me know what you think.
Im just going to suggest from a player to player manner, that when you load watch you bat head because you curl it a bit back behind you head and that movement lengthens the time you bat takes to get to the zone. This may also be the way you load with you hands also. Not sure what the max pitching speed youve seen is, but watch this curling because faster pitchers with have a field day with this and just try to gas it up and in and youll barely get to it and when you do it will probably just be a soft liner to 3rd/short. (Im no expert, just a player, but it helped in my swing against the faster kids at the AZ Fall Classic)

Hey also, i watched your catcher video, thats a nice pop time. I bet you toss quite a few kids out.
