It remains to be seen, now that two baseball guys, one from old Rockville, one recently moved to Rockville, whether each will pledge allegiance to a relatively new Summer Collegiate Team, so named the Rockville Express.

It was an enjoyable fund-raising evening for attendees at the Glenview Mansion, which so happens to be a short toss to the gravesite of the greatest pitcher in the history of the game (also an area man).

Is This a Great Game, or What?

Yes it is, as ESPN's Baseball Commentator and friend, Timmy Kurkjian with an former big league manager, Jimmy Riggelman, told baseball stories to an enthusistic audience, and over a couple of brews.

You will never find any more two people on a very cold Maryland night who have any more deep love for the great game.

To be simply recognized, as I sheepishly arrived fashionable late (~ 2 hours), by each, was somewhat humbling, until I teasingly learned they wanted to know if I brought the Miller Lite in my hand for them.

The questions from the audience were typical yet current, that is until I raised my hand to query Jimmy of the following:
a) You have not changed (in appearance) in over 40 years
b) Your cousin says hi and she wants you to call her
c) Our mutual friend, S Kimbal wants me to bring up the time.....(and I'll do that off line)
d) E. Milty wants to play for Seattle (who is now living in Arnold)
e) Bobby Grossman (who is the reason I was late, and I hate being late), says hi, and I am supposed to bring an autograph for him
e) Here is a MiLB rookie card of an upcoming LHP (Jamie Moyer type lefty), please check him out.
f) I'd like to hear, from the horses mouth, sort of speak, about K Woods.

email for details.

cheers
Bear

ps. From A-Rod's Heart to Zim's Head - I have heard most if not all of Timmy's 25 years of stories, so buy his 2nd book!
