Everybody Ready?

1st scrimmage game is Wednesday. Thank goodness the weather will warm up again for that!! Son tweaked his elbow about a week and a half ago. Supposed to start throwing again today and off the mound next week. Not sure he will play in the field on Wednesday - depends on how he feels, I'm sure. It will still be good to watch some baseball again.

Wednesday's weather should be great. Let the games begin! Hopefully Sean's elbow is feeling better.

They're calling for rain all weekend. I hope they're wrong!

Wicked and Will, Sean's doing well. Throwing with no pain. Played 2nd tonight. Actually told the coach his arm feels great and asked to play short. They didn't let him yet. Should start throwing off the mound next week and maybe pitch an inning or two next weekend. February 29th at the latest. Coaches want to make sure he's totally good before pushing it, which I appreciate. Really looking forward to this season.

How has everyone done so far? Son's team lost 1st game 10-6.

We are 2-0 on Varsity. JV doesn't start for a bit longer. (our kids play both until senior year because we are a small school) Neither team was in our region so the real story is yet to unfold. (keeping fingers crossed)

I was freezing at last night's game. Please remind me of that when it is 90 at the end of April.

We have only played a scrimmage game so far. Lost 9-4, but, all except 2 starters came out after 3 innings. Gave up 7 runs in the 6th inning by a pitcher who had never pitched varsity. Can't really count it as a loss. 1st real games are this weekend down in Lee County. We'll see how it goes.

Hey bballman. I am from lee co. My son is only 9th grader, but we will be at game this weekend. What is your son's # so we can look out for him? By the way, lost our first freshman game tonight to tift co on our inability to defend 3 consecutive bunts in top of last inning. Oh well, it's early in he year.

My son is a 2016, but we are still ready! :-) We enjoy attending the HS games...gives us a chance to observe the coaches and players that he will be playing with.

I'm so jealous; high school tryouts around here haven't even been scheduled yet. But looking forward to son's first home season on a new artificial turf surface. It bakes the sun in and should make it feel like its at least 40 degrees during a game.

He will be #5. More than likely playing SS. Kind of doubt he will pitch yet. If he feels OK, might go an inning, but forearm was still a little tight.

Larry is a GREAT guy. I have talked to him many, many times. He comes up here to watch numerous games of ours and I hung out with him at the game last year when we played down there. Ask him about the foul ball that hit the light and shattered glass over the spectator area last year. It was like The Natural. Thank God no one was hurt. His grand kids were playing in that area just a few minutes before that happened.

Yea I was there at that game. My nephew was catcher for lee co. He is now starting catcher at ga southern as freshman. Lots of crazy memories. See ya Saturday.

Well, bballson had his 1st outing on the mound last night. They had him on a 50-60 pitch count. Went 3 1/3 innings. Gave up 3 unearned runs, 2 K's, 1 BB, 2 HBP, 3 singles and the team had 3 errors behind him. Not bad for his first time on the mound in a game in a month. We lost 3-2 which stunk, but he made it through his first outing pretty much throwing all fastballs. Threw a few changeups towards the end. Elbow was a little sore after, but good enough to play short for the rest of the game. Velocity wasn't up yet, but had tons of movement on the 2 seamer. I'm thinking he'll be good to go for the next one. Time to focus on getting the arm back in full shape.

Great. My son similar outing. He pitched 4 innings and gave up 4 runs (1 earned). He usually plays SS and the freshmen SS and 3rd baseman had 3 errors behind him. First regional game and there were some nerves. We loss 6-3 to a good team. Team had won their first 5 games before that game. Pretty good for a team that only won 3 games all of last year. We only have one senior on the team. We should be good next year staying at 5A.

We have a young team, lost top 6 P's and 2-7 in the lineup. 2013 is hitting the ball hard but not alot to show for it, had a game winning 2B against one of our rivals (his GF is one of their trainers) and had a 2B and 1B tonight as we finally won an extra inning game. Region opens up in 2 weeks but won't see Bball until after springbreak. Good luck to all.
