The kid took a fastball just above the wrist this past weekend. Fortunately, nothing was broken, but he got a bad bruise. Fortunately, too, the pain and stiffness have been  subsiding day by day.   Definitely bad timing since, we're headed to Arizona Fall Classic a week from tomorrow.   Hopefully he'll be good to go, but probably won't be 100%.  He's thinking about getting an Evoshield wrist guard.  He's never worn one.  We're wondering if they take getting used to -- so that you might not want to wear  one for the first time in a situation where you don't want anything throwing you off even a little.   Anybody have any experience with that sort of thing?  Is it something you have to get used to?  Or does it feel like nothing special?

Its just like wearing a wrist band. Son never had any issue with getting used to it.

My son catches and started wearing the Evoshield wrist guard after taking a ball to the inside wrist while blocking an in-the-dirt fastball.  He wears it all game long, behind the plate and while batting.  It's on his non-throwing wrist.  No adjustments whatsoever - comfortable and doesn't move.  This thing is a terrific piece of equipment.

Describes my 2017's experiences and use of the product as well.
