I haven't been to a minor league game for a couple of years. We went to see the Wilmington Blue Rocks today. Burgers and chips were $7. Hot Dogs $3. Sodas were $3.50. Ice cream bars (the $1.25 kind at 7/11) were $4. The thing I always remembered about minor league ball is the low cost of concessions. Tickets were $9 and $10 (GA $6) and parking was free. That seemed normal.

I think the whole idea is to keep the parking and ticket price down and hit you up on the food, soda and alcohol (where they make their money).
Last I remember a few weeks ago, food was less up in Jupiter. But a cup of beer was 6 dollars and a bottle 8 dollars. Now that's pushin' it for me. I'll spend it the dippin' dots. Big Grin
Some have cheap beer nights, and dollar hot dog days, which means cheaper food but more tickets sold.
It depends on management.
I've been mostly to Somerset Patriots games. I've been going to a number of games each year since their inaugural season. The ticket prices are reasonable but concessions are a bit pricey. Overall, it's a great venue to take in a game.

I went to a Trenton Thunder game because my son was playing in a varsity game at the stadium at the conclusion of the Thunder game and their ticket prices were reasonable and the concessions were not bad as far as prices go.

I like the minor league games because you can take in a game and not get taken to the cleaners.

I was gonna get tickets for the new Yankee Stadium but for 4 tickets, concessions, gas, tolls and parking or if I opted to take the train and subway, it was still gonna cost me over a grand for a day at the Stadium. For that price, I'll watch them on Hi-Def and go to a minor league game. There's no way I'm schlepping up to Yankee Stadium to sit all the way up top for cheap tickets where the players look like ants. When I and if do go and decide to plunk down all that loot, it'll be field level or somewhere close to it because it's a waste to go and not get a good seat at the game.

Sounds like the Cardinals have similar pricing at their minor league parks as they do Busch Stadium.. Wink

I'm pretty sure the beer at Busch is higher than most of the other ballparks..

Zombywoof, I'm trying to think of who it is but one of the players that I work with currently just came from the Somerset Patriots..

I can't recall ever watching an affiliated minor league game, but in the Frontier League baseball takes a backseat to entertainment.. but it's a lot of fun normally Smile

The last minor league I attended was at Trenton. It's the closest minor league park to our house. The concessions were much less. We went to Wilmington yesterday since the Thunder were out of town. It was last minute plans after my son's DH'er was rained out by poor field conditions. Too bad it wasn't a home game for my son's team. They play on turf. My son must be a commie. He loves playing on turf.

You have to hit up dollar dogs night
In the late 80's was in Modesto on business overnight. I went to a Modesto A's game. It was 50 cent union card night. 50 cents for tickets, beers and hot dogs. There were a lot of roasted, rowdy union card holders that night. The flashy, hot dog Latino third baseman got an earful that night. And he was egging them on.

Actually the best night is when a friend says, "I have some extra (MLB) tickets to my dad's (catered) box. I'll put you on the will call list."

Modesto's always rowdy, You should see it when they give a discount to the ( Lady's of Vice and Virtue Guild ).
It gets crazy man.

Anyway the A's changed location's there the Stockton Port's now.
Modesto is affiliated with the Rockies.
