Have any of you had fundraisers to pay for attending a baseball showcase/camp? How did you go about it? The company is suggesting we send letters to family, friends and local businesses. I think if you were chosen to represent Team USA vs another country for a period of time a fundraiser would seem logical.........but for an opportunity to learn and be seen by college scouts? I'm not sure if it's reasonable. Then again all of this is a learning process to us. Any advice would be great.

The very first Showcase I attended I got sponsorship.

I wrote up a business like proposal letter and sent it to where my father was working at the time.

In the letter I explained what the Showcase was, the benefits of it for me to attend the overall cost and what I would do for them if they sponsored me, i.e. take business cards to hand out, see about getting their company name in the program as a sponsor, etc.

After they read it they called me in and discussed everything with me and by the time the meeting was over I walked out with a nice donation.

I hope this helps
