Did anyone see the game where the bunt or slow roller that was put down, the 3rd baseman charging, bobbling the ball with the catcher on the foul line caught the ball in his facemask.

All baseman were awarded an extra base! I had the TV muted at the time watching the replay so was not aware of how the call was arrived at. Anyone know what the rule was?

The rule is for the use of detached equipment....

Not sure what level of game you saw, but it is NFHS rule 8-3-3b and NCAA 8-2h

a fielder using detached player equipment including uniform items, may not deliberately interfere with a batted fair ball, or a foul ball that in the opinion of the umpire might have become fair without the interference...

all runners, including the batter-runner are awarded three bases.

OBR rule 7.05b only speaks of interference with a fair ball.....

The umpires blew the call. On a batted ball he award should have been three bases. They awarded two, moving R1 to third and B/R to second.
