Fair or Foul?

In a recent game a ball was hit about 8 feet down the first base line. It landed foul and then spun into fair territory where it stopped. Fair or foul?

Provided it did not touch "the person of an umpire or player or any object foreign to the natural ground" while it was in foul territory, it would be a fair ball.
