Today is a special day for son. After being away from Clemson for 11 seasons, now the pitching coach for FAU, son will face his Clemson pitching coach and mentor who helped get him get drafted, who is THE pitching COACH for last years CWS champions, Kevin O'Sullivan aka Sully. Former player vs his former college coach.
No matter what the outcome (yikes) how cool is that?

Totally cool! Mid week games can be very interesting when it is a matchup of a mid-major with a top tier D1. The mid major often starts their #1 pitcher hoping to get a quality scalp on the books, while the top tier will typically start #4 or #5.

Plan is to pitch the mid week starter. This is an annual game and FAU usually loses. Next week mid day is UM at home (then away). Those guys recruited dave so that should be fun too!

Thanks but we didnt go. UF is 5 hours up and 5 hours back. Had plans to stay overnight then head to Florida Southern for a game tomorrow night to see friends but Mr TPM has business early thurs am.

6 -1. Owls out hit Gators but couldn't get them to score. Gator pitchers are who they are, the best!

We saw a couple games at UM this weekend. It looks like a bit of a rebuilding year there. I give the Owls a shot.
It's interesting because a lot of the new freshmen for the Canes are guys my son has played with and against over the years.
Funny side story - Apparently a girl my son dated a few years ago is now dating one of the Hurricane players. We got to the game about 20 minutes before my son did, and she was sitting about 10 feet away from us. He then showed up with his current girlfriend and well - let's just say there was a level of discomfort. (Which I of course found hilarious)
We don't usually make it to mid-week games, but I'm going to see what I can do for when the Owls come down to Coral Gables.

Saw a couple games this weekend when the Gators came down to Coral Gables. Their pitching is ridiculous.
Canes managed to scratch out a win yesterday behind some great pitching of their own. For the weekend though they got thumped pretty good.

Canes lucky that Gator bats were silent. Happens to the best of all teams.
Canes are very young, in a few years they will be on fire!
