Do you have a favorite site to buy equipment? I just bought my son a his first -3 bat for $115 with shipping. It was last years model with a paint blem. I got it at hq4sports.com . This is the second bat I've gotten from them. They have a good selection of new bats along with a real good selection of discounted bats.

Does anyone know a site where you can find discontinued gloves? I bought my son an A2000 4 yrs ago and would like to find the same model to start breaking in as a backup.

Thanks

I sware by E-Bay for equipment and uniform stuff. Cleats, especially...there is a company called ShoeBacca that has great deals and is very reliable. I have also purchased brand new catchers gloves and bats. Got a brand new A2000 catchers mitt still with tag for $60. Purchased nice new pro style baseball pants there at 1/4 of the retail price. I always at least check there before I go to any other sites. Other sites used include Batterschoice.com, Directsports.com, Baseballwarehouse.com, Eastbay.com.(have a nice line of their own "underarmour" that is very comparable to the real stuff at half the price.) Just always make sure you check the shipping because they can get you there.
There are some things I would not buy over the internet. Shoes MUST be tried on IMHO, so the locals will get that business for sure. Bats, gloves will get competitively priced locally and on the net and I'll go with the best price. Remember one thing, "Net" purchases often have shipping charges that the local store doesn't. That should be factored in.
Baseball Express.

A year or so ago, I had a question on an order, so the helpful customer service person pulled my account up on the computer. She started to speak, then paused a few seconds, then said rather incredulously, "Mr. ______, do you know how much you've spent with us in the last several years?!!"

I had to confess that some of that was orders for our Little League, but I too could likely pay for a semester of college with what I've sent to those folks in Texas. I've never had a bad experience with them.

For field-working equipment, fence screens, portable backstops, etc, we've used Tomark and have always felt they sell top notch quality equipment.

Hokie....
Just had to laugh at your post........I called Baseball Express today and after I said my name....the account rep said almost the same thing to me......

Like you, I also used to purchase my local league equipment as well.....

This summer, my college middle infielder has agreed to switch to catcher this fall..........so a whole new gear collection is being added to our supply.....
Oi, our own is being forgotten here! Glove Man runs a site offering a range of quality equipment, fast and personal service, and (if I'm not speaking out of turn here) a hsbaseballweb discount. Please check Glove Man's site when you're shopping:

The Glove Shop

I have also had very good luck at Shoebacca for cleats and turf shoes. Shipping isn't a concern when you're buying multiple pairs and they have a complete range of athletic and casual shoes. Read descriptions carefully, as "cleats" can mean more sports than The Sport.

It is the lowest price a company can advertise the product for, but not necessarily the price.

For example, if a company says the MAP on their product is $129. It can't be advertised for anything less than that anywhere. However, if you call the company that has the product they might be able to offer you a lower price over the phone.

I could be wrong, but I think this is a way to attempt to keep things competitive between the small retailers and the larger retailers. This makes them all list the prices the same, but the larger retailer can still use their buying power "behind the scenes" to offer a better price.

That was my impression too. I even asked the customer service person what it was and got some round about question.....and ended up paying the listed price (no discount).
