I'll agree. It's been awhile since I built a snowman, skied a black diamond trail or shoveled off home plate, which actually happened in high school.

Speaking of Jacksonville the Boys just informed me that the first day of practice tomorrow will be a 9 inning scrimmage game. Same on Saturday and Sunday. Might have to take a little 150 mile trip to get a baseball "fix".

Sure is strange that pitchers will be going full tilt on the "first" day of practice.

My son is participating in an intersquad scrimmage as well starting tomorrow and lasting all weekend. You should tell your coach to get some originality and quit copying off of our coach

All kidding aside, the reason I started the thread was not necessarily because my son was not playing. I am a college baseball fan and we could all be hearing some news already. His team did not even start until Feb. 9th last year. I miss hearing about the West Coast teams who would have started all ready. I wonder if they will be holding full intersquad scrimmages outdoors at Ohio State tomorrow

Sorry CD. I should have been more sensitive. Hawaii started scrimmages Jan. 22nd and will play their first series beginning Feb 15 vs. UH Hilo. Last I heard weather was not a factor.

No need to be sensitive, but how do you explain all that when practice is not officially allowed to start until tomorrow How do you play your first game before Feb. 22nd?

Apparently they got an exception. Obviously a case of mid-pac bias by the NCAA. My guess is the Vulcan bus needs extra time to get back to the Big Island for their own home opener.
