I just saw "Fever Pitch". I rented it. I rented it because I was already itching to play or watch some baseball. This guy, Ben, is a huge Red Sox fan. Now my friends told me it was a chick-flick and I wouldn't like it. But I watched it the other night and it really got me fired up and ready to go to Spring Training in Bradenton.
First of all, I am a HUGE Pirate fan. In fact one of our Family vacations is we go down to Bradenton FL for spring training to watch the Pirates train and, you know, see the kids (Ryan Doumit, Chris Duffy, Nate McLouth, Zack Duke, ect.)
I was wondering, has this movie had this effect on anyone else or just me?

For me, fever pitch will always remind me of watching the world series, watching the sox win and wondering why Drew was down on the field kissing some guy. At the time, I was thinking how come she gets to go on the field - that would be really cool to be down there...

later on - around when the movie came out, I finally heard the whole story about how they reshot the end to incorporate the Red Sox winning - and I sure felt dumb Smile

It is still one of the better baseball movies of all time (not that there have been that many good ones...)

Awesome! Our family loves the Red Sox. I bought the movie the week it came out and sent it to my son in college so he could enjoy it again with his new friends. I'll never forget the outfit my son(18 yrs) wore every game of the ALCS and world series - red sox hat, jersey, shorts and red baseball socks. My husband even had tears during this movie!
