Well found out last night (Monday) that today would be the final cut for the JV team. For all of you that have gone through this I need some advice. How do I get rid of the nerves? I will not find out until about 6pm (california time). Is this normal? Anyway back to work as that might take my mind off of it for a while.

gimages,

T-Bird Dad's advice is good ... find something to keep your mind absorbed and busy, and the afternoon will fly by.

(You can be thankful you don't have to live with my younger son, waiting from his recent guitar audition UNTIL APRIL for his acceptance decision!) Confused

Best wishes to your son, and give us an update later! good

L-O-B-O-T-O-M-Y!

The kits are available at any reputable home center...just remember, if you're still able, the effects are irreversible. So please make certain that your desired future is already firmly and safely entrenched and etched into your mind before you take the plunge. There is no room for a mistake!

Do one favor for itsinthegame...just one...etch this in your mind for him...Mets win!...Mets win! rotlaugh

This evening will roll around soon enough...much success to your son...keep us posted!

HE MADE IT! I showed up 20 minutes before JV practice was to be over. Just could not stay away. I had to walk by the Varsity practice to get to the JV field. To my shock my son was on the varsity field, on the mound pitching to the Varisty team. He has made the JV team and is now getting a look by the Varsity coach. He did good. He will be practicing with the varsity team for the next 3 days. Thanks for all the funny posts. I laughed and it helped pass the day quicker. What ever happens now his hard work this summer and winter has paid off.

Luckily I didnt have to wait a few days to find out.My story goes that after the try out finished in september, the coach pulled me aside and had told me I made the team before he had even finished his drills.
Just relax,Im sure you proved why you belong out there

I hate to be there bearer of bad news -

BUT

The days of finger nail biting, eating Snickers and being nervous are far from over.

You get one whole day to enjoy the great news - and then it starts all over again -

The first game - the first at bat - the first..... well you get the picture.

Hope you have lots of Snicker Bars

Update time!!! For the last two days my son has been taking part in Varisty inter squad games. Three other JV players are also participating. On the first day he pitched and went one for three. Yesterday played 7 innings at third and went 2 for 3 with a double. I was at the school photographing the basketball game. I stepped out of the gym to get a glimpse of the practice. What do I see - my son coming out of the locker room with ice on his elbow. I guess on what would have been the last play of the game a slow grounder was hit to him at third he charged and came up throwing while on the run. Kind of a side arm motion. He heard a small pop and the ball went wide. This morning he was a little sore. Still has good range of movement. We have gone through this before and with 2 - 3 days of rest he was better. Looking to get him xrayed ASAP. Anyway back to the SNIKER BAR. You all were correct being worried never ends. ARE WE HAVING FUN YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
