The Metro Scout League passed out 8 Scout Books to the following professional organizations and colleges throughout the day: Toronto Blue Jays, Los Angeles Angels, Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox, and New York Yankees. Colleges represented were the University of Missouri, Weatherford College, and Howard JC.
That is a total of 64 scouts/coaches that have received scout books from us this fall. Our goal was 10 a week for a total of 50. The average of the 5 week period was 12 scouts/coaches per week.
Special thanks goes to the kids and parents who gave this league a try. From the feedback we have recieved so far from college coaches and scouts, it was a great success.
I also want to thank Sam Carpenter and Cade Griffis for having the vision and the courage to try something new. It was a pleasure spending time with each of you over the last 5 weeks. I am very proud to say that we put our egos aside, trusted each other and did something to benefit area youth and that is what it is all about...
Parents and players who did not participate this fall may want to consider this league an option in 2008. As you can tell by the exposure and by the value that was provided, it is THE place to play for fall baseball.
