After 7 seemingly long years our son has finally graduated from college with his Bachelor's Degree (Physical Education). This past Saturday (12/14) he graduated from ETSU. He hasn't played baseball since 2015, but baseball was a significant part of his journey.
His college journey started in 2012 at Patrick Henry Community College where he became a starter his freshman year (DH/1B) and was the 1B starter his sophomore year. After PHCC he received a scholarship to WSSU where he was the starting 1B for most of the season. WSSU earned it's 5th consecutive CIAA championship that year (2015). He also was named to the CIAA All Star team (DH) and CIAA Tournament Award. WSSU did not renew his scholarship so he went back to PHCC and finished his Associates and them transferred to ETSU where he finished his Bachelor's. While back at PHCC he served as a volunteer assistant coach with the baseball team.
At any rate, his college studies are done (for the moment) and a new era of his life awaits. He may pursue becoming a P.A. (Physicians Assistant), but he is still contemplating it.
Below is a pic of him at the DII Regional Championship playoffs:
And another while at PHCC.
As an old friend of mine said, "Onward and upward!"
