Well, as is clear from my other posts, our summer wooden bat season is over (although 2012 is now "in season"), so we finally have a night to go see my beloved Orioles play.

Some things can just be counted upon: The sun comes up daily, the Washington politicians haven't a clue, gas will never be cheap again, and by August, the Orioles are irrelevant. It seems like the days of Cal, Raffy, Alomar, and Mussina were decades ago...and I guess they really were.

Son #1's lady friend will be along and has never seen Camden Yards. I told her that if Heaven has a ball park, this is how it will look.

Can't wait to see the blue smoke waffling up from Boog's bar-b-que, the pitchers lazily shagging balls in BP, the kids squealing for baseballs, that simply gorgeous setting..I could just sit there a look at the whole place for hours.

Is this Heaven? Nope, it's Baltimore.

(and Heaven wouldn't have the devil in the owner's box.)

Enjoy hokieone!! All the new stadiums of today got their design impetus from Camden Yards. It is the original "ballpark" of this era, a great place to see a game. Many a Philadelphia area baseball fan drove down 95 to see that ballpark.

And now thanks to Camden Yards we have a beautiful new stadium here in Philly. What a pleasure to be in that atmosphere.
