Our guys first trip to a PG tourney or Lakepoint is this coming weekend.  Our guys and myself are very excited.  This is 2016 team of mostly D2 prospect players.  Any can't miss things to do in the area such as baseball stores, etc.  Aware of the parking fees and cost for refreshments from older posts and I appreciate the heads up but looking more for positives and things to do while in the area.  We will be there from Friday to Sunday.  Thanks.

Better Baseball is a must.  It's unlike anything I've ever seen.  If you're a boater and aren't too far away....pull the boat down.  Lake Allatoona is amazing and is 10 minutes from the park.  We stayed in a house on the lake when we went 3 years ago and I just booked the same house for my son's college spring break trip to LakePoint next March.

Hey  CaCO3 Girl: Do they still have the nightly Laser show on Stone Mountain? Absolutely LOVED it after walking around the park during the day!

Stone Mountain is forever away from Emerson, especially considering traffic.

There's a science museum (Telus) much closer, though I don't know how much it has for college prospect aged kids.  The aquarium in Chattanooga is closer to Emerson than the one in Atlanta, and a better value, IMO (especially if you're staying near Emerson.

I think the MiLB seasons are probably done by now, but Rome and Chattanooga are also good buys for MiLB baseball, and might actually feature better players than currently in Atlanta (said sort of in jest by a Phillies fan).

If you're playing wood bat, make sure you know where Better Baseball is.  Almost certainly a better buy than purchasing new lumber on-site when you break one (my son favors Old Hickory X-outs, which can be had for ~$50).

Last trip to Lakepoint (college ball - to get in much needed baseball  last March) - we stayed in Carterville (but have also stayed on Lake Allatoona).  Check out Tripadvisor.com for restaurants and things to do.  We visitied an Indian Museum in Carterville (fee) and Kennesaw Mountain (free) that is very close.

There are other places to eat besides Chick-fila and McDs.

btw - the light$ are state of the art.

Thanks so much everyone.  Schedule came out today.  First game is under the lights Friday night at Lakepoint!  Then we travel to East Cobb Saturday morning, should be able to hit Better Baseball in Marietta then.  Back to Lakepoint Saturday evening.  Big meal should be Saturday night.  We are staying in Acworth.  At least one more Sunday, will see how it goes.  Got a tough but not impossible draw it looks like.  66 teams vying for 1 spot in Jupiter.  Looking forward to the experience!
