Orlando Here is how Bryant finished last year. They are always a good team. Earned a bid to the NCAA's as TR said and did very well. I didn't feel they snuk up on anyone last year but rather jelled at the right time. Their facility is lovely and were selected to host the NCAA even without a press box. I am sure that is coming. The starting catcher is a good one, don't know anything about the back-up. And you will see that they schedule Fla Southern on their spring trip......

Orlando, Florida College is a two year school located in Temple Terrace(Tampa). The are a Church of Christ affiliated school. I'm not sure what their program is like this year but they do take their baseball seriously. They have a player-Jeremy Brand-on the U of South Florida roster this year as shorstop and he's pretty good. Can't tell you anything else. Sorry.
Bryant College which is now Bryant University has had a very strong program over the last few year and seems to continue to get stronger. As for there games in Florida they are not playing Florida College. They are playing Florida Southern College another to team in D-II. They being the three game series on Feb. 18 and these games will be at Florida Southern's home field (forgot the name). Bryant will also be playing (as someone said) the GB National team on Feb. 20 and that game will be played at the Cleveland Indians complex in Winter Haven. I hope this clears some things up for everyone. The Bryant and Florida Southern series will be a very good series early in the season.
Thanks -- and thecoach, each of these teams will be playing the GB team in a DH a week from Saturday. If the temperature is over 70, the lads will fry!
FWIW Bryant has had a tradition of winning throughout the athlatic program for a long time. The golf programs have almost always been near the top of the pile. A Jr. golf friend went there along with Jim Hallet, a New England amatuer legend who later played the Tour.
The climate is relatively mild for New England. Sometimes they miss the big snow falls that hit Boston/Hartford.
One other note on Florida College...as mentioned, they do take their baseball seriously, but being a private school don't have much money to put into their facilities. They have also just had a coaching change this year. Not meant as a criticism (they are good folks there), but just as info.
Well, it was interesting. Florida College tap danced on GB's B team; and the starters beat Bryant 4-2. A number of people wandered into the stadium, asking what level ball was being played as the Indians had generously given the GB team Indians unis; those who didn't ask will be pleased to see the marked improvement in the ST squads this week.
