I was watching a good game into the eighth inning. It was tied 4-4. Then it started. tweet-tweet-tweet, tweet-tweet-tweet, tweet,-tweet-tweet

I went bye, bye, bye. I forgot about the clown who ruins Vanderbilt broadcasts. At least he was late.

Saturday's game followed a similiar script to Friday.  It was tied in the 7th, then Vandy took advantage of some walks and bad pitches in hitter's count.   Florida couldn't recover and Kevin O'Sullivan looked frustrated.  I don't know the guy.  However, I've seen him on TV and he is typically intense but has things under control.   Not so much the last couple days.

Any SEC baseball game in my house has the volume off.  There are more Homers in an SEC game & broadcast than any where else on the planet, plus the fans are under the presumption that the opposing batters box is the strike zone when their team is pitching.   Just straight up....annoying!  I watched a Missouri vs Kentucky game on Thursday night.  Same deal....annoying until I reached for the mute button.

I discovered something new Saturday. The Red Sox have a sports talk radio guy, Tony Massarotti in the booth for forty games. He not only has a face for radio. He has a voice for silent movies. He naturally sounds like he’s whining. So imagine what it’s like when he is whining.

Plus his baseball knowledge base is that if a fan. He played D3 ball (Tufts) years ago. Most Boston athletes don’t like him and won’t talk to him because he’s an arse. He loves ripping pro athletes. So, it’s not as if he’s getting inside information from conversations with players.

I don’t listen to sports talk radio. The surgeon general has determined it causes brain damage. But, imagine in a town that has experienced so much success over the past twenty years the top sports talk radio show is two guys, Felger and Mazz who spend three hours a day ripping on local athletes.
