Boy, this latest strain of flu is a little scary. I had to fly to FL this week, and the planes had a lot of coughers. Anyway, my son is a freshman at a D1 school, and I was happy to learn that flu shots are mandatory for the team. I was wondering if that is a "standard practice" for most BB programs?

Speaking as an RN, I think it's great that teams are requiring vaccinations. How many college students otherwise voluntarily line up for an injection? First time they're on their own taking care of their own health and making their own decisions about seeking treatment, sometimes little things like flu shots get lost in the shuffle.

Listen Ya'll,I just want to encourage everyone who EVEN Thinks that they might have the Flu to Take Extra Care of themselves...I have spent the last week recovering from Viral Meningitis because I was to stubborn to go to the Dr.three weeks ago when I first got sick with what I Thought was the flu.I ended up in the ER Mon. morn.by orders from my family Dr.She said I had all the symptoms of meningitis,Which are ALOT like Flu symptoms!!The test(spinal tap)that they run to confirm meningitis is NOT any Fun!!
Please everyone, slow down and take the time to TAKE CARE of Yourselves!!The VIRUSES out there today are nothing to mess around with...

On a Happier and Healthier note...
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL MY HSBBW FRIENDS!!
Tell your boys not to "tough it out" either...
Make sure they understand how serious this strain is and have them let you know if they get sick.

A death of a college freshman Sunday has made everyone sit up and take notice, that's for sure.
