Every once in a while I run off on a tangent and try to find info on a former teammate my son played with. Here is an interesting, though dated, article on Nate Phillips Some of you probably remember him.
That's very cool. I noticed that the Diamondbacks have moved Justin Upton to the outfield --- the No 1 pick in last year's draft! Unlike Soriano, most of these kids are willing to do anything to play baseball for a living. I hope Nate continues to move up in the Yankees farm system.
Nate is no longer playing in the Yankees organization. He recently left Florida and decided to come home to Keller. From what I understand the Yankees have been a class act all the way and very supportive of Nate in his decision. They have left the door open to Nate to return to the Yankees should he decide to give baseball another shot.
Soriano is a selfish player who only thinks about himself and not the team. He wants to do what is best for himself and what is best for the team even if it is just a position switch.
