It was tough love Woody. Here's a little something from Sting.

How many of you websters out there
Been hurt in some kind of Pun affair?
And how many times did you swear
That you’d never pun again?
How many lonely, sleepless nights?
How many lies, how many fights?
And why would you want to
Put yourself through all of that again?

Pun is pain I hear you say
Pun is a cruel and bitter way of
Paying you back for all the faith you ever had in your brain
How could it be that what you need the most
Can leave you feeling just like a ghost?
You never want to feel so sad and lost again

One day we could be looking
Through an old book in rainy weather
We see a picture of Woody smiling at us
When we were still together
We could be walking down the street
And who should you chance to meet?
But that same old punner you’ve been thinking of all day?

Why don't we turn the clock to zero punny?
We'll sell the stock - we’ll spend all the money
We're starting up a brand new day
Turn the clock all the way back
We wonder if Woody will take us back
We're thinking in a brand new way

Turn the clock to zero brother
You’ll never know how much we missed ya
Starting up a brand new day
Turn the clock to zero boss
The rivers wide we’ll swim across
We're starting up a brand new day

It could happen to you
Just like it happened to us
There is simply no immunity
There's no guarantee
I say pun is such a force if you find yourself in it
You need some time for reflection
You say, baby wait a minute, wait a minute
Wait a minute, wait a minute

Turn the clock to zero boss
The rivers wide we'll swim across
Starting up a brand new day
Turn the clock to zero buddy
Don’t wanna be no fuddy duddy
We're starting up a brand new day

We are the rhythm in your tune
We are the sun and you’re the moon
We are the bat and you’re the cave
We are the beach and you are the wave
We are the plough and you're the land
We are the glove and you are the hand
We are the train and you’re the station
We are the flagpole to your nation

We are the present to your future
We are the wound and you are the suture
You are the magnet to our pole
We are the devil in your soul
We are the pupil - you are the teacher
You are the church and we are the preacher
You are the flower and we are the rain
You are the tunnel and we're the train

Stand up, all you punners in the world
Stand up and be counted, every boy and every girl
Stand up, all you punners in the world
We're starting up a brand new day

You are the crop to our rotation
You are the sum of our equation
We are the answer to your question
If you follow our suggestion
We could turn this ship around
And go up instead of down
You are the pan and we are the handle
You are the flame and we are the candle

Stand up, all you punners in the world
Stand up and be counted, every boy and every girl
Stand up, all you punners in the world
We're starting up a brand new day

You spend a good piece of your life gripping a baseball, and in the end it turns out that it was the other way around all the time. ~Jim Bouton, Ball Four, 1970

Wow cry...that was touching. Thanks for the sting, its.

I'm happy to report that when it comes to long distance running I'm not worth a pair of old Pumas, but long distance punning that is a different allegory!

You get a tailwind(bag) behind me and watch out...there'll be wind breaking all over the place. Every Breath You Take...becomes downright unpleasant at times!

Me and all of the other karmsters...we're a tough hunch!

Woodman - I went to the doctor last week - and Dire Straits made a brief - yet accurate - assessment of the whole sordid betting incident - and its ensuing effects.

Doctor Parkinson declared - "Its - I'm not surprised to see you here
You've got smokers cough from smoking, and a fat belly from drinking beer".

"I don't know how you came to get the Betty Davis knees
but worst of all young man - you've got Woodman's punning disease".

He wrote me a prescription he said "You are depressed,
but I'm glad you came to see me to get this off your chest.

Come back and see me later Its - next patient please
Send in another victim of Woodman's punning disease".
