Great for him. Wasn't an easy road for him either, he was ranked a top5 overall prospect in baseball like 5 years ago already but then had some struggles in the high minors and especially in the majors early on but then turned it around.

He definitely looked like a bust after having like a 6 era in 2018 with lots of walks and not many Ks either but then had a big turnaround in 19.supposedly made some mechanical adjustments and got more healthy. Pitching in the big leagues is hard.

Son faced him in a high school pre-season game.  Must have been 20 - 30 scouts there watching him pitch 3-4 innings.  At that time he was tossing around 100 from what I heard.  Son had 2 ab against him, he was ecstatic because although he didn't get a hit he did hit a fly to rf and grounded out to 2nd.  He had some arm issues during the season and I think was shut down for a bit.  Glad to see him tossing the no hitter after struggles in his career.

After watching the Bruins game I tuned to NESN to see if the Sucks were still playing. The wrap up was on. The first thing I heard was White Sox pitcher enters 9th with no hitter. It’s why God created MLB TV. I watched the 9th. The last out is on video in the article. It was a shot. I think it was last week I watched Maeda lose a no hitter in the 9th on a dink shot.
