KISD is in a big redrawing of the attendance boundries, and with the predicted lines, Fossil will move down to 4A until some of the new housing developments build out.

They are also going to hit us up for some more money to build a 4th high school in the next couple of years.

They are projecting at build out to have 4 5A High School by the end of the decade. To think when I started working over here, Keller had one stop light and three gas stations.
I have a freshman at Northwest and we are beginning to see the same thing. NISD voters passed a bond to build a second HS scheduled to open in 2009 and a third HS land purchase was part of the same bond package. Estimates are when NISD is built out, there would be seven HS's. Mind-boggling (although that ain't hard for me)!! Eek
You got it...fortunately, by then I might be more concerned about where my grandkids are going to HS than my kids.

The only real issue is where they place Northwest in the next district alignment. I know the powers don't want to be thrown in with the evil empire to the southest. Their preference would be south or west because the athletics at Northwest are still trying to catch up to the 5A level, but that ain't too likely (UIL and all). Thing are gettin' better though.
I know I'm getting old. It doesn't seem that long ago that Lewisville had only one HS, Plano had one HS, Frisco was 2a, Lake Dallas was 2a, Denton had one school, which was 4a I believe (and that included Argyle because they didn't have a high school at the time) and Northwest was way out in the middle of nowhere....well, that's still true. Big Grin

We live in TC, but actually live about 3 miles closer to Keller HS than Northwest HS...kind of weird.

My frosh actually went to 7th and 8th at Keller MS (my wife teaches there), but they changed the transfer policy so back to Northwest he came. He is cool with it now, but had gone to Stramp's camps and wanted to play for him.
You were right until this past year. They decided to exclude campuses considered to be at capacity...KHS was the only HS listed. Had he been a freshman last year, they would have allowed him to complete the highest grade on that campus, in his case that would have meant he could graduate from KHS. But since he hadn't started on that campus yet and KHS was full, he became a casualty. Frown

He was bummed at first, but he is adjusting and NHS has a new baseball coach, so he feels better about it now.
Northwest will be 5A
Boswell will probably be 4A with the new HS that is open.

Any redistricting that is in Keller's future has no bearing on this realignment because all schools had to turn in their PEIMS snapshot at the end of October. It is this number that the UiL uses for realignment. So, whatever the schools turned in last month, are already in the UiL's hands.

Now, in the future, that is a different story. Hope this helps.
