If the ball then went to direct to the catcher's glove and he caught it, I've got foul-tip, strike three, batter's out.

If the ball settled or was touched in fair territory, I've got a fair ball.

If the ball went foul, I've got a foul ball.

In no case do I have, "yes, he went."

Over 20's years of D-1 has taught me that less than knowledgable umpires can be found at all levels.

The ball went foul. I'm with you Jimmy. If the pitch would have been a ball had it not contacted the bat (no attempt), there's no way you can call it a bunted ball if it does.
