This cartoon makes me think of my son. He was 11 last year when we took a trip down to Citizens Bank Park in Philly. We took in a Saturday night and a Sunday afternoon game. We had seats behind home plate on Sunday. As usual, they did not have batting practice on a day games after a night game so the stands where pretty empty until game time. What they did have was the local Youth Baseball Home Run Derby going on. Since the stands were pretty empty, my son was getting a bunch of foul balls over the backstop (No net overheard). This one particular ball came and he raced over to it. Just like in the comic, he was bent over to get it and when he looked up, there was the little 5 year old girl standing in front of him, hoping to get a ball. My son looked at her and handed her the ball. I was so proud of him!!!!

Congrats! What a fine thing to have witnessed.....My father used to tell me that we only get so many opportunities to proove that we were gentlemen.......and that I should never miss out on an opportunity to do so.....

This is one to put in your memory bank.............great plays or homeruns are cherished but fleeting memories, but this act of kindness will serve him well for life........
