He posts here as pabaseballdad.  His son who plays high school ball in Pennsylvania near Pittsburgh had quite the day in Myrtle Beach the other day.  I've never heard of this type of achievement before from a high school player.  I saw Willie Stargell do it one time in the pros.  Perhaps PGStaff is aware of someone doing it.  The young man is still a junior and committed to Coastal Carolina.  Huge congrats to the young man and his family.

Seems like they should record stats with and without bbcor standard.  Most of those records won't be possible to be matched today.

Yes, it does seem unfair, but even MLB doesn’t segregate the different eras. The dead ball era, the PED era aren’t any different in the record books. They don’t even differentiate between the 154 and 162 game schedules.

Congrats to  pabaseballdadson and son, that's a very nice day at the field..

Looking at the record book is eye opening.. its amazing some of those #'s

k's in a season....366, career..... 842.  One pitcher had 37 K's in an 17 inning game  , wow

Jeff Clement not only had the most HR's with 75 but he had the most walks....214 , anything near the plate he must have crushed!

players at my sons HS were lucky to get 60 - 80 AB's in a season, I think in PA they are limited to 21-22- games plus playoffs?  Weather usually cancels out a handful of games.

Thanks everyone, we are proud of him of course- just needs to keep things going.

our HS season is short- 20 games.  Lucky to get 55-60 at bats.  Barely any time to work out of a slump if that happens!
