program is in a very tough league and region for baseball. they usually hang toward the lower half and do not make the playoffs. good high school coach in Louisiana who may have bit off too much. could be one the of the toughest areas to recruit to in the US. he is a good pitching coach but dont know who handles the other duties as they have a new assistant i think. dont know much about academics there but probably much like highschool. good luck
I personally think very highly of Coach Simmons...like the guy above said they play in a very tough league...NMJC won the World Series last year from that conference...I know as a team they have improved each year he has been there...I know he has had sevaral really good players over the past couple of years....even a top 5 rounder...one kid to NC State...and I'm sure many more of his kids have moved on...he is a caring individual who loves the game and is passionate about sharing his knowledge on and off the field...Academics will be like any other CC in the country...a solid stepping stone to a 4 year institution...If you want to play for a good guy, a quality coach, in a solid league then it's not a bad choice
