That's cool. Who was the last baseball player to make the show from Lubbock before Tyler anyways? Good talent there, but easily overlooked.
Most recent guy I'm aware of is A.J. Ramos from Lubbock Estacado. He pitched at Tech and I believe he is with the Marlins. Brett Anderson, with the A's lived in Lubbock as a kid when his dad was the pitching coach at Tech. He and Tyler Lyons were on the same select team called the Lubbock Jammers. Even after the Andersons moved to Austin, Brett continued to play with the Jammers through their 14U season. Justin Duchersher, former all-star for the A's was from Lubbock Coronado.
Lyons did very well last night. He pitched 7 innings, struck out 4, only gave up one earned run. He also had a hit. He got the win.

My son played with and against all of the above players except Duchersher. They were all good players and great kids. It is nice to see Tyler doing well. He was tough to play against in college.
