Just 12 days till tryouts. Hopefully but not regretably it will mean the end of posting as a Pre. HS. parent. In our area the 8th graders can tryout for the Freshman team and some may have an opportunity to play on the JV team.
This will be a big step forward for a lot of players.

I would like to wish the best of luck to all the other parents and players that are about to make this transition and I would like to say a Thank you to all who have given advice and information on this board. It has and continues to answer a lot of questions for me, not only as a parent but also a coach.

Slider, The best of luck to your son. My son's school used to have a freshmen team although we don't any longer. My son tried out as a 7th grader, doing so for the experience but not really expecting to make it. We do not have middle school baseball here.

I will never ever forget the look on his face as he came out of the high school gymnasium. He was grinning from ear to ear and waving this "official" piece of paper that stated he had made the team.

It was the beginning of what has been a beautiful ride. I hope your son makes the team, grins from ear to ear, and your whole family enjoys celebrating his success. Good Luck!
