Ballew did throw CG on Tue. It was a 5-inning affair. 15 batters faced. PC must have been about 70. Threw only 20-25 on Fri.

Wanna mention Herrick's performance again. Everyone hung up on pitch counts. Yeah he threw a lot but how 'bout kudos for 18 strikeouts and 1 walk. K'd the side in the 8th and 3 in the 9th. That's pitching!

BTW, I read OP's post as a complement on Ballew's ability to bounce back from whatever he threw on Tue. Not a criticism/concern re pitch counts.

RockDad and son should hold a clinic on how to take care of your arm after throwing (not only pitching). RFC3son played with Travis the past few years and he is a model of what TO do to stay healthy. I am sure most top shelf pitchers do the exact same thing, but over the years I have seen sevral guys take the mound to pitch, and after the game, they do NOT run, do NOT ice, do NOT stretch, only to have their coach put them back out there after only a day or two rest...Could there be a correlation between this sort of activity and why there is much more injury today? Also, could this be why there is such a big drop off from the top guys to the next level down?
