We have some Dallas area baseball players (okay one is a former baseball player) putting up big numbers in Friday night football......

Ryan Mossakowski (DBAT) with 251 yards passing .... Frisco Centennial scored 71 points in the first 3 quarters against Denton.

Kirk Hayes (Mustangs) with 416 yards passing leading St. Marks to an opening win over Ft. Worth Country Day.

Daryn Alves led McKinney Boyd with a total of 469 yards (270 passing, 199 rushing) in their win over McKinney North.

Corey Brooks (Marshals) had 185 yards passing for Dallas Christian in their Friday night win over FW Trinity Valley.

Congrats to these young men!

Any other big football performances by those we have seen on the baseball diamond?

Plano Cat Dad - You are right, football gets WAY too much coverage compared to baseball but since no one is talking baseball in the Texas forum lately (where did all the posters go??) I figured we needed to talk about something. Wink

Bitter? Naw......... your own "Superman" has had more Dallas Morning News press time this summer than the rest of the metroplex football combined. Big Grin

Natural -- the state of Pitt football is a joke -- and Wannstedt is not the answer. College football remains a sport where the rich get richer. Few blue-chips want to play for schools like Pittsburgh until they finish in the top 10 for a few years. Teams like BG have dynamic programs that love to play the role of spoiler....especially when they are coached to carry a no-holds-barred approach into games against the so-called favorites (see Michigan as well in this category). BG has a fine program btw.

Glad to see the Terriors roll though. Cool

Yes I did. I'm not quite sure what sherman is trying to do with the offense; it sure looked pretty anemic against an opponent they should have dominated on paper.

Hes trying to run a pro style offense with spread players, and thats not just not going to be pretty until he gets some of his type players into the system. The offense line especially looked overmatched, and thats something you can hide in a spread. He also has been whiffing on the recruits so far, so you could argue the future doesnt look much better. Franchionie set that team back several years.

Congratulations, Tyler. Despite your father's genes, you continue to do great things athletically. Thank goodness for your mom's side of the family!

Cheapseats, thanks...even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every once in a while.

Hawkman, I should have pushed you down the stairs at TCA last night when I had the chance. Razz
