Cheerleading season is over for me and I have been "released" to see some games this weekend. Are there any Collin County tourneys going on this weekend? Any schedules to post? Thanks...
Hey man, the Roughrider Tournament of Champions is this weekend. Go to their web site and pull up the link. Call me and let's go to a few games. Maybe I can get a house pass for this weekend too. And while we're at it, we could see those Keller Indians too since they'll be in the same time zone as us here on the east side!
Dad is doing good. He's done with his treatments. We played golf 3 different times over the Christmas holidays. I still can't beat him even when he's doing chemo treaments! He's got a great support from mom. Since they've been together for 54 years it's going to take more than cancer to break them apart. She's had to battle through her's too. Some of it showed back up a few months ago so they put her on a new medicine and it reduced it to almost nothing.
Thanks for asking!
K.D.
The girls would be more than happy to come along and they just might make the trip to watch baseball. The LOVE it!
Starts at 10:00 tomorrow at Dr. Pepper with Allen vs. Klein Collins. There is another game with Wylie vs Flower Mound at FHS. Who ever wins that game will play Liberty Christian at 1:00. Then the winner of the Allen game and the 1:00 game play at 4:00.
So what time are you picking me up and can we go to IHOP for breakfast, your treat Mr. GM?
O.P.your old team is in a big funk as of late. I saw them last weekend when they were undefeated, they looked good. Potential is there to be better. I've got a couple of 'em on my team this summer. (Should have had another if you guys would have come to tryouts. ) Since then they have lost 4 straight. Not sure if they played again tonight.
Another midnight snack is in order now!! Come to think of it, I didn't eat dinner! I could stand to miss a meal or two though!!
Anyway...I talked to a dad of one of the younger players on the team tonight, NT, and he told me about the 4 game losing streak. I was thinking earlier this week when they were 6-0 that they had a chance to make some real noise this year. He wasn't sure what the deal was. Not a lot of hitting it sounded like to me. I saw D Dixon last night at our game in Duncanville and he told me Bolsinger was really impressive so far this year. I really don't know why they've run into some road block's all of the sudden. Coach M is a great coach. I'm sure he'll get it figured out soon and have them purring like a kitten in no time. He's got a lot of talent there. How's G-man doing so far and is the other kid a lefty going up and down between JV and V? If not, who's the other one? We're going to have a team out of Frozen Ropes over here this summer. By the way, what league are you guys playing in?
I saw the Dawgs play on Thursday. The hitting has slowed down. Reed has been sick for about 2 weeks battling the flu. He missed both games on Thursday, but I heard he played Friday and "called his shot" when the catcher got mouthy with him. He delivered! Defense wasn't particularly tight on Thursday. Also, not many "real" pitching arms took the mound for the Dawgs this weekend. Between the top 3 pitchers, I heard there were only 2 innings pitched in the 4 games. Threw a few non-pitchers also.
My son was a freshman last year at North, but we moved to Rockwall last fall, so I know a little about their program. Coach Milam is probably wanting them fresh for district. They're already in district play. It would be nice to win another tournament for them, but I'm sure he'd rather win some district games.
1. Michael Bolsinger, Sr. (signed with Tech) 2. Michael Flatt, Sr. 3. Trent Appleby, Jr.
That's my opinion on their top 3 pitchers.
They also have Tyler Steed, Jr., Woody Ross, Jr., Nico Taylor, Soph., and Bryan Kinard, Soph.
Any North dads out there have anything to contribute to the mix?
Bolsinger did not pitch any this weekend. Appleby pitched 1 inning, and Flatt pitched a few. I don't remember exactly how many, but probably 2-4 innings. They should all be fresh for district play.
North will come around. They are way too talented and have too good of a coach to be held down too long. This may be the most talented team they have had up and down the roster since they opened up. They will be someone to reckon with at the end of the year...just wait.
Right on, Coach A. Worry not for North. They are stacked two-deep in almost every position. Their pitching is well above average and Coach Milam's toughest decision is which .350+ hitter needs to sit. Outfielders can fly. Defense isn't great but certainly more than adequate, IMO. Certainly among the cream of 9-4A. Nothing more than a little sandbaggin' going on.
With a #1 like Bolsinger, they should go far with him on the hill quite a bit. North will definitely give some good teams a run for their money in the playoffs. If they can peak at the right time, I see them as a serious contender to get to Austin! Good luck Bulldogs, we miss you guys!!
