FRISCO, Texas -- SPORTSTV President/CEO Andrew Beinbrink announced today that SPORTSTV has reached an agreement with the Double-A Frisco RoughRiders (an affiliate of the Texas Rangers) to hold their first-ever baseball combine at Dr Pepper Ballpark.
This fall, SPORTSTV will be launching a tour across five major cities in California, Nevada, and Texas. Each combine will serve as a recruiting event targeted for high school age baseball players. This inaugural combine will take place at the home of the RoughRiders beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 22. Beinbrink -- a former Rangers Minor Leaguer -- played for the RoughRiders during the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
"The SPORTSTV Combine Tour will provide aspiring 14- to 19-year-old baseball players the ideal opportunity to get maximum exposure to professional scouts and college coaches," said Beinbrink. "Each athlete will execute a series of sports specific skills that are professionally evaluated and video taped. Each player's video, test results and evaluation will then be launched onto WWW.THESPORTSTV.COM as an individual profile, providing an ON DEMAND access point for professional organizations, college programs, agents, parents, fans and more."
Each SPORTSTV player profile will be able to host uploaded SPORTSTV combine video, evaluation and other general player profile information that is verified. This information is very pertinent in assisting with athlete placement at the next level. In addition, the SPORTSTV player profiles can be updated periodically to keep scouts and coaches informed of the players' recent development and performance. "I really like the approach SPORTSTV is taking with their combine format. As a coach of a college program, I am looking forward to having on demand access to video of potential prospects running, hitting, pitching and fielding, through this Web site," said University of Santa Clara Broncos Head Coach Mark O'Brien. "This will be an extremely valuable tool in sports recruiting and performance testing, and I believe it will enhance our ability to recruit the best players from around the country."
