I'm not very creative when it comes to drills. But, if I want my hitter to work on staying on the ball (front side, shoulder, head, eyes, etc.) then I'm going to set the tee on the outer part of the plate, and or soft toss away, and direct him to hit everything straight away (length of the cage) or to the opposite side. Good hitters will generally react and get open to pitches on the inner half.

This is not a "magic pill" quick fix. As with all things in hitting, you need thousands of reps...
