Anyone have any comments on the Advanced Camps put on by Florida State's baseball program? We will be near there in July and am wondering if this might be worth doing.
my son attended a couple of years ago (between sophomore and Junior years). He really enjoyed it. He was coached by a local high school coach. They played several games and at the end of the camp was given a written evaluation. The evaluation was post card sized, but did give some good information.
To summarize, he wanted to return, but summer ball has kept him from returning.
My son attended 3 or 4 years ago. He also received good instruction from coaches from high schools and colleges. The camp was well attended and supervised. The kids stayed in dorms, and got a close up view of the program from team members and coaches.
He also went to the Clemson winter camp and had a similar positive experience.
Thanks Dad04.....appreciate the comments....funny you mention Clemson....my son is a mif and I thought that might also be a good camp for him, as well....glad to hear your son thought Clemson was worthwhile.....was he looking at them for possibly attending or just 'going to the camp'. My mif is 14 so we are interested in the teaching/learning aspects vs. 'getting seen'
Both camps were well run with little downtime, plenty of instruction. Very well attended. Lots of kids at both camps. I'm guessing the campers sleep well at night.
