Thank you for the compliments!

Last night was the short version. The long version is supposed to be aired Sunday night on the High School Sports Special on Channel 8.

My next challenge is to keep the kids feet on the ground! The recognition they are getting is nice, but there is a long way to go. We need to finish strong this year, then we can look back at this recoginition as the start of something great!

Dang it, I missed it too. Wife heists the remote and I am stuck with some cruddy rerun of "Se x in the City".

My wife and I settled that one a long time ago. I got the remote and she got the checkbook. It was working fine untill she used the checkbook to buy another tv. Any ideas how I can get the checkbook back? Frown

NOW, I'm very confused Confused... is there something wrong with that???

MOM & CPA Thanks for the back up!
Thanks to all!

I would gladly trade that for a win last Friday. Tough to win when you make 5 errors. It was a total team effort from players to coaches. I am a firm believer in "players win games, coaches lose games." Lots of my coaching colleagues disagree with me on this point, but it is how I feel.

What I mean is, if I am going to get the credit for the wins, I should take the blame for the losses. After every game, especially a loss, I always break down my performance as a coach. I look at what I could have done better...how could I have prepared the team better, etc. Ask my kids, when we lose, I tell them it is my fault, I have to prepare them better. One of my players is on this board...tell'em Rock!

I am my toughest critic. Do I make the right decision every time? No way! I seek information and better ways to do things on a daily basis. I talk to other coaches, read different publications and books, attend coaching clinics, work summer camps...anything to gain an edge for the kids that I coach.

Anyway, got to get back to work. We have Duncanville tomorrow night at home. We have scouted them twice and they are a fine ball club. We definitely have our work cut out for us. Oh, got to get those U.S. History kids ready for the TAKS test...only 2 weeks away!!!

That's OK, I have very little shame!

Baseball coaches have to have a sense of humor, if they don't they'll go crazy with all the decisions made and not made. I've spent a lot of sleepless nights thinking about things I could have done differently. It still haunts me that we lost an area round playoff 9-8 and made 8 errors! pull_hair

But at least on this message board we don't have to defend our sport like another board I've seen TOC.

Good luck tomorrow night. That's one heck of a baseball district you are in.
On the same segment last night they spotlighted our school's girls s****r team (defending state champs),it was a nice interview as well. It was a well played game but heard it got ugly afterwards boxing amongst some of the Colleyville fans and some of our fans, heard a nose was broken (one of our guys) and a Marcus player had a concussion, not very good representation out of either school.... heard the incident was spurred on by a weeks worth of posting on the "my spaces" pages including some threats and a video. This just shows again how these My Space postings/blogs can cause some harm.

And we thought it gets a bit dicey in this forum.........
