The last couple of years I have started to teach infielders to funnel to their ear instead of hip.
I have a few reasons for this and where I think there's an advantage, especially for high schooler's.
What do you teach and why?

We work very hard on creating momentum towards our target before we ever field the baseball.

Its all about creating positive mo towards your target by taking the proper path to the baseball. And then funneling to the throwing side getting your shoulders turned on the funnel playing through the ball and towards your target.
